Attention all you gamers out there: Hillsboro may go down in the books as the spot where the world record for Asteroids was broken -- unofficially, at least.
John McAllister, 42, of Seattle, played the Atari arcade classic, Asteroids, for more than three days, racking up a record-breaking score of 41,338,740 points. How long did it take McAllister, who holds more than two dozen world records in gaming? Three days. McAllister streamed his feat on Justin.tv.

Reports Wired Magazine: At 10:18 p.m. Pacific, he scored 41,338,740 points, a new all-time high score. In doing so, he beat a record that has stood for over 27 years.
McAllister played the game at the home of a Hillsboro friend.
And for those of you wondering just how McAllister managed to go so long without a break, he slipped away at key moments.
Every few hours, once he had racked up enough extra lives, McAllister got up from his barstool, paced the room, ate a sandwich, then sits back down to play. A last-minute bathroom break Monday evening almost cost McAllister the title: He got down to only two ships remaining before rallying back.
McAllister's score will remain unofficial until it's verified by Twin Galaxies.
